MPEG 4 Set Top Box replacement TATA SKY update
Two days back i have received an SMS from TATA SKY about shift to MPEG 4 conversion standard . It has clearly mentioned in the SMS that replacement is completely FREE.
You have to reply "Y" to 56633
They will send a service request number immediately or the next day with the scheduled timing (I was astonished by the timing because,it was so early and perfect)
>Tata Sky representative called me early to get my location and changed the box(offcourse he took the old one with him )
>When the box is changed there will be a "PAIRING ERROR" in the screen.he will call support guys to clear it .
Since the line was busy i had chat with him.Below are the comments from him
> This change is only for customer bought TATA SKY before 2013.
>TATA SKY is well prepared for the change , new boxes are coming in everyday . Lot of boxes were available.he said he has 1000 boxes in that area already.
>Within few days they will cutting main regional channels , such as SUN TV and other channels in phased manner .Because people will report immediately so they can change the box.
> Tata Sky reps are calling some customers directly to get the box changed to avoid any delay
> There is no fees to change the box. He said that there are lot people hesitating to change (i dont know why)
> From August 1 there will be new regional channels added especially south packages
