Last Thursday I was passing by a tea shop where i saw a ts mpeg4 stb. i was in a little hurry so had no time to know wheather that was new or exchanged one. but it seemed old connection by the dish on the roof. the area is South Bengal, TamlukWB side. any friend from wb pls share if got changed old stb.

Well, I have two Subscriber IDs at different places, in my home here in Kolkata, there are two multitv connections and all are HD boxes, once an engineer came to re-align the dish few days back and he told me that they are changing the MPEG2 STBs for those subscribers who has activated South Indian channels.
I have one MPEG2 STB installed in another place in W.B. but no south pack is activated for that, till now we did not get any message for upgradation for that STB, may be because South channels are not activated on that.

Yes first who have south regional pack, bcoz they first planned to move south Indian channel to MPEG 4 and then add new south Indian channels.

I remember CEO once said after launching gsat, that they first add south regional channel first,

So gsat failed, so doing same activity with migration

Vasanth Tv and Raj TV (Tamil Channels) have been shifted to MPEG4 as per tata sky website.

Now, all total there are 5 MPEG 4 standard definition Channels on Tata SKy's platform.

Vasanth TV-MPEG4
Raj TV-MPEG4
Makkal TV-MPEG4
Murasu TV-MPEG4
NE TV-MPEG 4

Its nice to see that Tata Sky is migrating to MPEG 4 at a good pace.

Are you sure that GSAT is failed or TS has not been entertained.

I don't think GSAT 10 failed because that would be a big blow to Airport Authority of India & air traffic control over south asian region as the main payload is GAGAN navigation equipment. I think the delay is because of controversial Antrix(ISRO's Business arm) Devas Deal. Now they are so much conscious that they don't want to create any further controversy over the Transponder allotment of GSAT 10.
