Good calculation,

But I think after moving Tamil channel they can get some idea about how to do it faster and better.

They can finish off in less than 8 moths.

Also I doubt they having 6 million MPEG 2 stb.

Also by running HD upgrade , few stb gets replace automatically.

Good thing is that, the MPEG 4 to MPEG 2 channel change and vice-versa thing has been corrected for the Standard STB's (MPEG 4 standard STBs), earlier there was an issue, with the picture going blank while changing the channels, the problem was not seen in HD box or HD plus boxes, were mainly observed in TS Standard (SD) STBs and few TS+ STBs.

Finally, we can expect some new channel addition with this move, though it will take time.
