Migration means moving to a new location all together like a7 & a8 , the current activity is shifting to a new sat in the same location.

Eg: One migrates to another country.
One shifts to a new house in the same location.

You will always say I shifted to x or y city

If you move countries you will say I am migrating to x or y country

@Sadiq this is my point

and after 900 threads we are concluding this was a self curative and imagined thread

You should understand that it is not a fake news. As per the other posts in the same thread, the original plan is to migrate to AS 7 and 8 and that is why those satellites have been added in 4K boxes. Gsat 10 was also added to the box.

Now they changed the plan to continue with Gsat 10 itself. Since TS changed the decision we cannot call the entire news as fake news.

Athiram is a TS dealer and getting these news from internal sources in Tata Sky. You can see his news about MPEG 4 migration was true and it is exclusively shared by him only.

In the same manner, he is sharing the new and updates that he is receiving as and when.

So, don't call this news as a fake news and blame Athiram only because TS changed the decision. After all, we are getting some internal news with the help of him. Think if he didn't update about the first post. No one will track AS7, 8 or Gsat 10 and today's news will not come out till the time TS is publishing it.

All sat experts tracked the all these 3 satellite only based on this thread.

Dear Brother Sadiq
You think its TS who back out from migrating to A7 & A8 No way its long term agreement like 5 10 years not and easy task to go away once u come under agreement TS has never done any agreement and their was no such plan if it was so they should have migrated to A7 & A8

and from day one everyone was aware of the fact that TS will move to Gsat 10 and TS did It was all TS fault who was not willing to get TP from Gsat 10 now when old satellite is going to expire they got TPs

I already told u TS is not like Dish Tv who spend lot of money on Foreign satellite TS only knows how to withdraw money from customers pocket

Twist was created in the tale by narrated this A7 & A8 story to retain customers

I think it is wrong to blame tata sky for not using gsat10 transponders before. As tata sky had requested isro for additional capacity along with insat4a transponders. But first they launched gsat very late and then they asked tata sky to use gsat10 and abandon insat4a( which was facing power issues). So the net result would have been that tata sky would have left with same capacity of 12 transponders of same capacity as of insat4a. So it was like an exchange offer which was offered to tata sky. So they refused and moved to mpeg4.
Now as it appears that tata sky will be using gsat10 and leaving insat4a( not sure when) ,it will be interesting to see what next? Will they continue to use gsat10 and ask for new satellite from isro at same 83 degree position OR it is just a stop gap till they fully migrate to mpeg4 tech and then move to asiasat 7&8 as it is being discussed for quite long. And as far as channel addition is concern then we should be clear that not many channels can be added till they convert to mpeg4 fully( if they are planning to use gsat10 only).
