Can Mahesh beat Chiru's record?
Well, In Telugu Film Industry, Bahubali has become the biggest possible movie ever in terms of revenues and manpower. No one wants to compare their movie with Bahubali and therefore, trade brought in a new term, Non-Bahubali records into being. When there is a gigantic beast giving him the best spot and rest try to fight for the next best spot. So, in the industry today, Who will be the next best? Has become the million dollar question.
Mahesh Babu with Srimanthudu, couple of years ago along with Bahubali the Beginning, showed that he has the potential to put his film on the next best position and the movie was termed as Non-Bahubali Industry hit. Till the release of Megastar Chiranjeevi's comback movie, Khaidi No.150 the record was intact. Jr.NTR's Janata Garage and Pawan Kalyan's Sardar Gabbar Singh failed to topple the record set by Mahesh. Janata Garage even though was regarded a blockbuster it ended up being the third best.
After Megastar Chiranjeevi's Khaidi No.150 proved the actor's strong hold on box office by collecting 100 crs revenue, many thought his brother will change the equation with Katamarayudu. Even though the actor does have the potential, his lacklustre movies have failed him twice now. Once again, the trade is looking at the possible contenders for the title and Mahesh is the only one who looks like has a potential film, SPYder in his hands. The film directed by AR Murugadoss is said to be a sure shot blockbuster and if the movie does become one, then the market reach of Mahesh Babu should put it beyond Chiranjeevi's Khaidi No.150. Pelli Chupulu director is happy finally
Pelli Chupulu director Tharun Bhasker recently expressed his anguish at the way Award Functions conducted these days. He took potshots at the Award Functions saying that they are giving more importance to stardom rather than the actual content. The reason for his disappointment is quite obvious. 'Pelli Chupulu' didn't get any awards in the recent award functions execept an award comedian Priayadarshi.
Coming to the present, Tharun is a delighted man with the announcement of 64th National Awards. Tharun Bhasker was awarded as a best writer in the awards. Tharun said that "I consider Mani Ratnam garu as a god. I went to the first day first show of 'Cheliya' today. When I came out of the theater, I heard the news that I got a National Award. It was like a blessing showered on me."
Apart from the Best Dialogues Award, 'Pelli chupulu' received the award for Best Feature film (Telugu). Responding on the awards he said that Awards are always encouraging and thanked everyone who supported him in the journey of 'Pelli Chupulu'

Rogue effect: Venky explores other alternatives
It is known that Venkatesh was supposed to do a film with director Puri Jagannadh after the completion of 'Guru'. As the budget was very high for Puri film, Venky's elder brother Suresh Babu raised ojections that it is not safe venture. Venkatesh said to have planned to turn producer for Puri film if no other producer was willing to invest on the film. But Venkatesh said to have followed wait and watch policy.
Meanwhile Puri convinced Balaya for NBK101. But Venky has even revealed during the promotions of 'Guru' that Puri is preparing a story for him. Everything was fine until Puri's latest film 'Rogue' released. The result of 'Rogue' and criticism on Puri for outdated screen play.. direction said to have changed the mindset of Venkatesh as per the buzz. He said to have dropped the idea of working with him.

Chiru-Puri meet raises speculations
For any Telugu director it is a dream to direct Megastar Chiranjeevi.. dashing director Puri Jagannadh is no exception. It is known that Puri Jagannadh has missed the opportunity to direct Chiru's re-entry film. Puri had prepared a script 'Auto Johnny' but Chiru didn't like the second half of the script.. so the project didn't materialize.
Coming to the present, there is a speculation going on in the film circles that Puri has recently met Chiranjeevi and explained about his Janaganamana script. Chiranjeevi said to have been excited about the script and he is seriously considering of doing the film. It is known that Puri has prepared this script for Mahesh Babu and Mahesh also liked the script. But Puri's 'out of form' must have been the reason for Mahesh backing out of the project. Venkatesh also impressed with the script but he was hesitated with the budget of the film because it is higher than his market.
Going by these developments, it is really interesting to see whether Puri will get the opportunity direct Megastar or not. As Puri is delivering continuous failures..
