Can anyone answer my queries?
1. Is it necessary to buy unnecessary FTA channels basic pack to subscribe to cable and DTH services? I don't watch any of the FTA channels available.
2. Is the new tariff applicable to Jio and Airtel TV as well?
3. What happens to Independent TV subscribers? Didn't they pay to get all paid channels for free for a year.

1. Yes, 25 DD Channels subscription is mandatory but we can select remaining 75 channels of our choice.
2. No, but there's anither rule coming.
3. As its long term Recharge plan you will get the services till it expires.

2. No only for TV broadcastig. Seperate OTT rule streaming is coming

Need some changes in this order.
Otherwise dd channels stay away from 100 channels.
I think trai make rule without study of demand of customer,dth/cable & past rules effects.

TRAI mentioned, in the tariff order, that according to BARC data 90% of households go through only 50 channels, did they intentionally miss out on exactly how many homes go through DD channels, If TRAI would have looked into it, we wouldn't have to waste 25 channels of our subscribed network capacity.

NCF also should be proportional.
If one takes only 50 channels NCF should be 65 or, maybe 99 as the minimum NCF.
