Good News TRAI wins the tariff order case against Star in Supreme Court

In the latest press release by TRAI on Jan 10th it clearly mentioning 130 NCF channels is either FTA or pay channels or Bouquets or combo of both FTA & combo.
Now its a breather for customers i guess.
The threat has been posted in Sundirect section.

Yes these 100 channels customers can choose from free & paid channels. No enforcement of 100 FTA channels in that. This is good news. Earlier it was not clear but now it's pretty clear. In 200 Rs we can definitely get our most favourite channels.

We are definitely free to choose 100 channels in the initial NCF of 130, be it FTA or pay, provided that Pay channels bouquet or a-la-carte price, as chosen, is required to be paid additionally apart from NCF

Yes! So there's nothing new TRAI said on 10th! It's still the exact same thing! But TRAI's official statements cleverly skips the part about paying the additional charge over NCF for Pay channels. Lol. And consumers are thinking all they need to pay is 130+GST for 100 channels, be it paid or free. LMAO.

Another major newspaper in Karnataka is misleading people by claiming TRAI has given a bumper offer by allowing subscribers to choose any 100 channels of their wish for 153 including taxes. That's the headline but if your read the entire thing it is full of confusions. I expect many people to protest very soon. TRAI thinks it's going smooth. Just wait till the first bill payment under the new rule

Even we DDF bros are hardly able to understand new Trai rules. I wonder what common man would do.
Dth companies will automatically give these costly packs to a lot of people as they wont be able to select channels

here at dreamdtch forum most people are very informed about DTH and new TRAI rules but yet it gets confusing, imagine what would be the state of rest of the population, I believe after the 1st February when people will get their bills in hand there will be a huge outcry or may be things gets worse for TRAI.
