Inshort So it's better to wait for V2 til remaining bugs gets fixed.Yes, it works just like an Android TV with stb as an extra feature. I'm using tataplay binge on it lol. It's kind of a bad device if you just want to just watch satellite TV.
-TV channels have an IPTV like look and UI. If someone didn't know they would think it's an IPTV box.
-your favourite channels will appear on the Android home page like app shortcuts.
-sun direct EPG is a joke and this box also suffers from it.
-It does not remember the last used audio feed in channels. E.g., dolby audio or pcm. Good back to default after channel change.
-If you set it to favorites, it will not be able to change channels or show channels info like EPG and signal strength. Select all channels to make its channels button work.
-It's a Dolby certified box so av port at the back will convert/decode Dolby audio and you can play it out in speakers. Good for those who don't have Dolby audio in TV or have old LCD TV.
-It remembers the last played channel unlike the HD box which always starts with sun hd promo channel.
-It always starts on the Android TV homepage and you have to manually click "live tv" on the remote to watch satellite TV.
-You can change channels with voice commands and it's quite fun to change channels this way. But you have to use the channel number. E.g., you have to press the voice command key on the remote and you need to say, "channel 946" to play Vh1HD. If your say "play vh1" it will open YouTube and search for vh1. There is no other direct way to jump to a specific channel.
-You can force it to always playback video in HDR if your TV supports HDR.
-you can connect it to PC monitor and the picture will not shake up and down because it auto converts the output to 1080p @60Hz or 2160p @60hz. HD box output is 1080i @50hz.
-its got inbuilt upscaler for SD channels. They look much better than HD box.
