Am able to record on the Pen Drive and able to play the recording on TV it self thru Set Top Box.. but when I take the USB to a laptop or a PC, it asks for a Format as it doesn't recognize its file system. Similarly the pen drives formatted on Fat/NTFS on PC/Laptop is not recognized on the STB.. Any idea what File System the STB is using for writing Video recordings!

thanks in advance!

You can not open it in PC without formating.

Aah.. so you can not view the recordings on any other device?

Yes, you can't view them and dishtv will never allow it to be viewed in any other device.

the STB will format the USB in ext file system which cannot be read by windows.

Linux computers can read those files. or try any ext file system readers. try searching in google
