Just because it's your preference doesn't make it good channel bro, Zee Marathi has big popularity and every Marathi people know about this channel same with Star Pravah but this is not case with Sony Marathi, i have seen this many people not aware about Sony Marathi & even Sun Marathi, only Maharashtrachi hasya jatra and KBC Marathi is popular shows of Sony Marathi which are watched by Urban audience in rural they have less viewers according to me.
And I Think they should not close both Sony Marathi and Zee Marathi as both are good content giving channels whereas Zee is popular as well, they can improve and run 2 GEC channels in Marathi market after merger or if they want they may close Sony Marathi which have less popularity.
We Marathis have made it habit to watch award shows,event shows and Reality of shows of Zee Marathi though we hate the channel for CHYD show & crap serials.

MHJ might be no.1 but where is it on trp.. where is Sony Marathi in top 5 of BARC? Zee is still 2nd leading channel.. zee can shut off zee yuva, zee chitramandir.. (and may be even sony Marathi and shift those shows on zee, if they really have to take tough steps)

Both channel good performing show can be put in one channel.

Zee has strong footprints in regional market than Sony. So Sony may withdraw their channels from all non hindi languages. It includes Sony Marathi, Sony Aath etc. Sony focus on Sports, English, Infotainment & Kids genre. Thereby Zee plug off all channels from those genres. & brand become irrelevant for many reasons - to meet competition rules, poor performance, existence of more important brands. & Brand shuts down. In Hindi with few shut down of some movie channels both brand will retain. The contents will be transferred from the defunct one to other. This is my assumption.

ZEE : these channels should be connected with regional and rural, semi urban audience
Sony : these channels should be for Metro cities only like right now Sony channel are. So, they can keep all English channel under one roof too.
& : The audience which want more than just normal TV which consume more quality content and go for Digital content too. Can bring sports under this category.
