DTH Performance Report for August 2021

In August, channel removal remained minimal across all operators. Airtel Digital TV dropped four channels, d2h and Sun Direct dropped one each, Tata Sky and Dish TV added four channels each, DD Free Dish added highest five channels. Tata Sky

Tata Sky added the SD channels and 1 HD channel including Times Now Navbharat HD, Santwani, Anaadi TV and Punjabi HITS. As part of Jingalala offer, the operator also provided four SD and HD Sports Mini Packs at a discounted price of Rs 1 for the first month. 

With the announcement of new made in India set top boxes, Tata Sky launched Dhamaka offer for new HD connections. Under this offer, new customers can recharge with Rs 4000 and get the set-top box, installation, etc. for free of cost.

Airtel Digital TV

Airtel Digital TV added two SD and HD Hindi news channels namely Times now Navbharat HD and News India 24×7 while it dropped the highest number of channels among others. Four channels removed from this platform are Good Life, ABZY Movies, ABZY Dhakad and ABZY Cool. 

Dish TV & d2h

Dish TV added four SD channels India Ahead, Showbox, Enterr10 Bangla and Sun Marathi while d2h added ETV Bal Bharat and removed 9x Jalwa. Both operators also brought new offers for Onam. 

New customers buying Dish TV HD connections will get a 1-month Kerala Super HD pack and an indoor unit for Rs 999. Apart from this, under the ‘Lucky Recharge Offer’, existing customers can get up to 100% assured cashback. 

Sun Direct

Sun Direct added one HD channel and also removed another HD channel. Star World Premiere HD is discontinued from the platform and it is replaced by addition of Zee Kannada HD.

DD Free Dish

The Free-to-air satellite television provider has removed Jantantra TV and added five channels on its platform- Ishara, ShowBox, Enterr10 Bangla, Naaptol and Sun Marathi. All of these channels won slots in the 54th E-Auction for the period from 16.08.2021 to 31.03.2022.
