DTH Performance Report for December 2019

Tata Sky

In December, Tata Sky strengthened its Punjabi offerings, the operator has added 6 new channels which includes 3 Punjabi satellite channels and 1 platform service channel. Tata Sky Hollywood Local is the platform service channels added while Enterr10 Bangla, ANB News, Living India News, PTC Punjabi Gold and Balle Balle are the normal satellite channels added.

The DTH operator has discontinued Tata Sky Telugu Cinema HD, while it will be continued in SD feed on channel number 1402. Apart from this, Tata Sky has also dropped S News and TV 24 from the platform.

This month Tata Sky has launched SD and HD version of add on pack named Hindi Movies Pack. The operator has also launched semi-annual Hindi Bachat pack for its new customers who buy SD connection in Punjab and Haryana region.

Airtel Digital TV

Airtel Digital TV (ADTV) has added 4 satellite channels this month while no channel was removed. YO TV, Sri Basava, Jan TV and Care World are the new satellite channels added on ADTV platform.

ADTV has also launched 2 new curated packs called Mauji Hi Mauja at Rs 320 per month and WB Complete Entertainment pack at Rs 108+NCF per month. This month the company announced a hike in NCF of secondary connection to Rs 118 from 18 January onwards.

Airtel rolled out Xstream Thanks Offer in which it is providing the Airtel Xstream set-top box originally priced at Rs 3999 for Rs 2249, the offer comes with a 7-Day Mega HD trial pack included in it.

Dish TV & d2h

This month Dish TV and d2h have finally signed the revised Reference Interconnect Agreement (RIO) with Viacom18 and implemented the revised ala-carte rates and new bouquets of Viacom18 which had been notified in February. They also launched ‘Orbit’ a new User Interface (UI) for Dish SMRT & d2h Magic range of connected devices.

Dish TV added 4 satellite channels while 1 channel was removed from its platform. Bangla Bharat, Zee Biskope, Zee Punjabi and Chandrikala Time TV are the channels added while Khushboo Bangla has been dropped. Dish TV also launched 6 new combo packs starting at Rs 169. D2h, on the other hand, has removed 4 channels- Divya, Manoranjan TV, India News and TV1, while Zee Hindustan Tamil and Zee Hindustan Telugu were added by the operator.

Sun Direct

Sun Direct this month added 9 satellite channels namely DD Puducherry, Enterr10, Music India, ABP Ganga, Sangeet Marathi, Dabangg, Big Ganga, &TV and Big Magic. The operator hasn’t removed any channel.

This month lots of pack changes happened in Sun Direct. The DTH operator has revised 3 of its curated packs namely SD DPO 1, SD DPO 2 and SD DPO 3 packs to provide more channels at the same old rates. It has also launched 10 new HD combo add-on packs offering up to 14 channels. 

DD Free Dish

State broadcaster Doordarshan owned free-to-air satellite television provider DD Free Dish has added 8 more channels for its viewers after the 42nd E-Auction. Shemaroo Marathibana, ABP Ganga, Show Box, I Love, TV9 Bharatvarsh, Abzy Cool, Zee Biskope and Zee Punjabi were added this month on DD Free Dish.
