As the new month starts, we are back with our monthly DTH performance report to help our readers stay aware of all the happenings in the world of DTH. Find out every major activity from Tata Sky, Airtel Digital TV, Dish TV, d2h, Sun Direct and DD Free Dish from the month of June 2020 in this exclusive article.

Tata Sky

DTH Performance Report for June 2020

Tata Sky has added 4 satellite channels namely Kite Victers (Educational), Dinchaak (Hindi Movie), Manjari TV (Odia GEC) and Power TV (Kannada News).

The operator also dropped 6 channels including a platform service. Music Fatafati, Abzy Movies, Ilove Pen Studios, News World India and A1 TV are channels removed while Tata Sky Acting Adda is the platform service discontinued from TV. However, Tata Sky Acting Adda will continue to exist online via watch.tatasky.com and Tata Sky mobile app.

In June, Tata Sky revamped its consumer portal website with a modern, minimalistic UI. It also added ‘Trending on TV’ features in Tata Sky Home screen of HD and SD boxes to find the best content airing on TV and save time spent surfing channels. 

Airtel Digital TV

DTH Performance Report for June 2020

Airtel Digital TV (ADTV) has added 1 satellite channel this month while 1 channel was also removed by the DPO. Kite Victers (Educational) is added on this platform while Music Fatafati (Bengali Music) has been discontinued. 

ADTV brought back its ‘Sunday Super Sale’ offers too. This is a weekly offer similar to Tata Sky’s Jingalala Saturdays and Jingalala Afternoon or d2h’s Khushiyon Ka Weekend that will provide various channels and services at Rs 1 for the first month.

Manjari TV (Odia GEC) was added on Dish TV and India News (Hindi News) had been discontinued. d2h, on the other hand, added 3 channels- Girgit Tulu (special platform service channel for Girgit movie premiere), Power TV (Kannada News) and Manjari TV (Odia entertainment) while AP 24X7 is removed from this platform.

Dish TV has launched a new user-specific combo pack named ‘Hindi Basic‘ having 193 channels with discounted Network Capacity Fee  (NCF) at Rs 151.04 including GST. Both Dish TV and d2h have also removed the 30 days Lock-In period from a-la-carté channels.

Sun Direct

DTH Performance Report for June 2020

Sun Direct has added 3 satellite channels including Kite Victers (Educational), Manjari TV (Odia GEC) and Nandighosha TV (Odia News). The operator also tested Sun News HD for a few days at LCN 803 but later dropped it. 

DD Free Dish

DTH Performance Report for June 2020

Big broadcasters made a comeback to the Free to Air (FTA) DTH platform DD Free Dish. Star Utsav (GEC), Sony Pal (GEC), Zee Anmol (GEC), Zee Anmol Cinema (Hindi Movie), Colors Rishtey (GEC), Live Today (News) and Rishtey Cineplex (Hindi Movie) are added on DDFD while BDM (Bhojpuri Movie) is dropped.

  1. Dish TV is loosing its popularity day by day even after merging with Videocon D2H and also removing channels without any notification to customers, and customer service is also being bad.
