The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) today cancelled four satellite TV channel licenses belonging to three separate broadcasters increasing the number of cancelled TV channels to 325 as of 14th December 2020.
The Ministry has cancelled the licenses of ETV Abhiruchi HD, ETV Life HD, Tunes 6, and Express TV today marking the reason for cancellation of all the four TV licenses as not required.

For the unaware, ETV Abhiruchi HD and ETV Life HD had been shuttered in the middle of October 2020 by Eenadu Television Private Limited which streamlined its High Definition offerings. The satellite TV license which was no longer required has now been done away by the Ministry.
J.S.D Data Infotech’s Express TV and RKM News’s Tunes 6 satellite TV licenses have also been done away with the Ministry cancelling them today.
The Ministry has separately approved the license of Celebrities Management Private Limited (CMPL) to operate ‘TravelXP 4K HDR‘ along with the renaming of MGK Printing’s ‘C7’ satellite license to ‘Agamwani 24×7′. The Ministry recently also approved the satellite TV license of Digiana Industries ‘News World‘.
