PadmaShri Awardee and celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s 24X7 food and lifestyle channel, FoodFood, has won the MPEG-2 slot on DD Free Dish in the 58th online e-auction.
The slot is allocated for the period between April 1, 2022, and March 31, 2023. FoodFood is set to go live on Prasar Bharati’s Free-to-Air (FTA) DTH service DD Free Dish on April 1, 2022, to reach rural audiences.
The channel in an announcement said that with this development it has become the only speciality channel to be made available on DD Free Dish which reaches over 40 million households.
“I firmly believe that food is a universal language that breaks all barriers of cultures, races, and borders. With FoodFood, I want to reach as many people as possible looking for relevant content on food to make taste buds tantalized and possibly their lives brighter,” said chef Sanjeev Kapoor in a statement.
FoodFood is currently being distributed only through single pay DTH operator Tata Play at channel number 768 and leading MSOs across the country. It is the country’s first 24X7 food and lifestyle channel and is owned by Turmeric Vision Pvt. Ltd. (TVPL).
