Hathway Digital Private on Monday informed the Telecom and Disputes Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) that NDTVs offer for settlement was unreasonable

Pursuant to the order passed on 5 July by the TDSAT NDTV gave two proposals through e-mails for clearing the net dues as indicated in the e-mails. Learned counsel for Hathway Digital submitted that both the offers are unreasonable because the monthly installments are for an amount of Rs. 10 lakhs for a larger number of months and the entire dues are proposed to be cleared in about 2 years’ time.

The tribunal noted ” Since the petitioner is not willing to accept the offer of the respondent because of unreasonable time schedule, we grant two weeks’ time to the respondent to file a reply, and if possible, to settle the matter.

Post the matter under the same head-on 22.8.2019.”

Hathway Digital Private Limited had on 03rd July moved the tribunal against NDTV for recovery. The broadcaster had appeared on advance notice through a counsel. The counsel for NDTV had told the tribunal that it wants to settle the matter and come forward with a schedule of payment at the earliest.
