MIB cancels Mahua Plus, Shiva Shakti Sai, and 2 other TV channel license in January 2022
Media One, A TV, Shiva Shakti Sai, and Mahua Plus TV channel license cancelled by MIB in January 2022 among others.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) in the month of January 2022 cancelled the satellite TV channel license of Mahua Plus, ATV, Media One, and Shiva Shakti Sai for various reasons.
The Ministry cancelled Aadri Entertainment’s ‘Mahua Plus’ TV license on 19th January 2022. The Non-News category TV channel license was cancelled since the company did not seek permission for an extension of the use of foreign satellite apart from the outstanding annual permission fee and its non-operational status.
Aadri Entertainment’s ‘Shiva Shakthi Sai TV’ TV license was also cancelled on 19th January 2022. The Non-News category TV channel license was cancelled for similar reasons as the company did not seek permission for an extension of the use of foreign satellite apart from its non-operational status and outstanding annual permission fee.

Opportunity Media Private Limited’s ‘A TV’ TV license was also cancelled on 19th January 2022. The Non-News category TV license was cancelled due to its non-operational status and non-payment of annual permission fee and failure to apply for a 10-year renewal.
Lastly, the Ministry cancelled Madhyamam Broadcasting Limited’s ‘Media One TV’ TV license on 31st January 2022. The News category TV license was cancelled due to the security clearance denial by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
