MIB grants MSO registration to Sky Media; total registered MSOs at 1752

Sky Media received MSO registration from MIB in January 2022. Total number of registered MSOs now at 1752.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) last month granted fresh Multi-System Operator (MSO) registration to Sky Media, as per the list of registered MSOs as of 31st January 2022 released by the Ministry earlier this week.

Haryana based Sky Media was granted MSO registration on 17th January 2022 vide registration number 45009/41/2021-DAS. The MSO registration granted to Sky Media will be valid till 16th January 2032. All registered MSOs as per the Ministry’s 2017 order can operate anywhere in India unless indicated specifically in the registration order.

The number of registered MSOs as of 31st January 2022 now stands at 1752. The Ministry had earlier granted around 20 new Multi System Operator (MSO) registrations during October 2021-January 2022 time period. Calcutta Television Network Private Limited, Grand Vision, and NXTDIGITAL Limited among others received MSO registration during that period.
