The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) yesterday incorporated its permitted satellite TV channel license database with the greenlight for TV channel license for Zee Ganga, Vertinent Samachar Plus 24×7, Surya Sajanwa, and Harvest TV Kerala. The four TV channel licenses have come at the expense of four existing TV channel licenses albeit through TV channel license name change.
The Ministry has renamed ZEEL’s Big Ganga TV license to ‘Zee Ganga‘. The TV license was initially granted to Reliance Big Broadcasting Private Limited before being transferred to Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited. The TV channel license was initially granted in the name of Big Magic Bihar/ BIG HITS and subsequently known as Big Magic Ganga, BIG GANGA, Zee Ganga, Big Ganga, at different time periods and now again Zee Ganga.
MIB has also renamed Veecon Media and Broadcasting Private Limited’s TV license named Navtej 24×7 to ‘Vertent Samachar Plus 24×7‘. The TV channel license held by Veecon Media was initially known as Vee News and subsequently known as Shri S7 News, Harvest TV, HTN News, Navtej 24×7, and now Vertinent Samachar Plus 24×7.
The Ministry has additionally renamed Sunny Entertainment House Private Limited’s TV license named Naaptol Kannada as ‘Harvest TV Keralam’. The TV channel license held by Sunny Entertainment was initially known as Gnext Discovery, Naaptol Kannada, and now Harvest TV Kerala.
MIB has also renamed Surya Sagar Communication Private Limited’s TV license named Surya Bhakti as ‘Surya Sajanwa’. The TV channel license held by Surya Sagar Communication was initially known as Surya Bhakti.
Star Kirano, Star Kirano HD, Vijay Super HD, Asianet Movies, HD, Star Gold Romance, and Star Sports 1 Tamil HD have also been granted TV channel licenses by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) in recent weeks.
