The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has approved 3 licenses applied by Pen Music Private Limited. The three licenses granted are Issaq, Play My Movie and Play My Song.

The licenses are yet to be operationalized post the ministry approval. All of them were granted by the ministry 3 days back only on 21 October 2019. As on date, the total number of TV licenses granted stands at 914 and the total number of cancelled TV channel licenses stands at 280.

The ministry also updated its database with 3 licenses of TV Today Network granted more than a decade ago. The three licenses namely Headlines Today (Additional Feed), Aaj Tak (Additional Feed) and Aaj Tak (Additional Feed) for UK Audience Only were granted in 2006 and 2009.

However, the above-mentioned licenses didn’t feature in the MIB database for years even during the era of publishing of Master list of Permitted Satellite TV channels.

DreamDTH had earlier reported the renaming of Zee Malayalam, Zee Malayalam HD, and Zee Magic license among 30 name changes, the approval of Vijay Music, B4U Hitz and B4U Plus among 15 new licenses and the cancellation of 17 licenses including 4 licenses from Zee Media.
