Prasar Bharati to hold 47th E-Auction for vacant MPEG-4 slots

The E-Auction for the allotment of vacant MPEG-4 slots will be held later this month.

Public broadcaster Prasar Bharati yesterday invited applications for the allotment of vacant MPEG-4 slots of DD Free Dish DTH platform on a pro-rata basis for the period from 1st September 2020 to 31st March 2021. The E-Auction for the allotment of vacant MPEG-4 slots will be held later this month.

The 47th E-Auction of the vacant MPEG-4 slots will tentatively be held on 25th August with broadcasters allowed to submit their applications for the E-Auction latest by 3:00 PM 24th August 2020. The bidding for E-Auction of MPEG-4 slots will be open to all genre (language) channels at starting reserve price of Rs 50.6 Lakhs for the period from 1st September 2020 to 31st March 2021.

Prasar Bharati had earlier in June held the 46th E-Auction for allotment of MPEG-4 slots on annual basis wherein devotional and news channels had dominated the auction.

Samay, Sudharshan News, India News, Live Today, India News UP/UK, India News Haryana, News State UP/UK, India News MP/Chhattisgarh, VIP News, Chardikala Time TV, Sanskar, Aastha, Vedic, and Satsang had won MPEG-4 slots on an annual basis.
