The advent of the New Tariff Order back in 2019 led to the Direct to Home (DTH) operators revisiting their drawing boards and reformulating their strategy for weekly offers with them no longer providing discounts on television channels but providing their service channels most of the time as part of the weekly offers. Tata Sky has since the New Tariff Order most of the time offered its service channel under its Jingalala offer on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Tata Sky this Wednesday is however offering its Kids add-on pack in a rare move after the introduction of NTO which led to 40-50% increase in payout to broadcasters, as per Tata Sky in a submission to regulator watchdog.
According to the Tata Sky website, Kids SD and Kids HD pack under the Tata Sky Jingalala Afternoon offer will be available at Rs 0 for the initial period of 5 days followed by the regular price. Notably, Tata Sky usually provides the Afternoon or Saturday offer for Rs 1 for the first 30 days, but given the changed dynamics due to the New Tariff Order it is offering 5 days free viewing.
