Tata Sky has last week rolled out a service update for its Tata Sky+ Transfer HD boxes. The release version of the new software update is v304.
The major change in the new software update is the dropping of the Video on Demand (VOD) option from the software.
The DTH operator has recently discontinued the Tata Sky on-Demand (VOD) service from its platform on 31st October. The VOD service which was earlier available to HD+/PVR customers was initially scheduled to be dropped on 14th October.
DreamDTH had earlier reported that Tata Sky had launched a new Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) feature in place of VOD. With this service, the customers will be able to watch the movies while on the go that is through the Mobile App/Binge or watch.tatasky.com.
In this new feature, a subscriber gets the option of renting a movie. The subscriber gets an option of “Premium Movies on Rent” and the trail of all the available movies will appear. The purchase of premium movies can be made from the Android mobile app, SMS and watch.tatasky.com.
