Direct to Home (DTH) operator Tata Sky has yesterday withdrawn its 3 year warranty policy on all new connections and upgrades effective immediately. Tata Sky will now offer only 1 year warranty policy on all new connections and upgrades effective 1st October, 2020
All new subscribers will now be offered 1 year warranty from the date of warranty from the date of activation which will include set-top box, viewing card, remote, dish, converter, and other equipment.
Those who bought a new connection prior to 1st October 2020 will continue to enjoy the 3-year warranty which came with their new connections. Pritish Kumar who bought a new Tata Sky connection on 30th September 2020 has received a 3-year annual service commitment.
Tata Sky had for long offered a 3 year warranty on its rental scheme for new connections with Tata Sky reserving the right to charge subscribers for repairs or replacement of STB as per the rates announced by the company after the expiry of the service warranty period.
The warranty policy on the outright purchase scheme was however always set at one year. The new warranty policy on the rental scheme applies to new connections of all set-top boxes.
