Viacom18 gets MIB permission to launch ‘Sports18 Khel’
Viacom18’s ‘My Cam’ TV license believed to be renamed paving way for Viacom18 to launch ‘Sports18 Khel.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) recently granted permission to Viacom18 Media Private Limited to launch ‘Sports18 Khel’. The broadcaster has been granted a satellite TV channel license named ‘Sports18 Khel’ recently paving the way for the operationalization of the TV channel.
‘Sports18 Khel’ TV channel license is granted under the ‘Non-News and Current Affairs’ category with permission for both uplinking and downlinking. The license has the permission to operate from Intelsat-20, a foreign satellite. The company further has permission to broadcast in Hindi, English, and all Indian scheduled languages.

The license is believed to have been granted vide the renaming of Viacom18’s ‘My Cam’ TV license. The ‘Non-News’ category TV license was granted by the Ministry on 10th June 2021 to Viacom18.
The Ministry had recently approved the renaming of multiple permitted TV channel licenses paving the way for Sports18, Sports18 HD, MH One Dil Se, and 3 other TV channels in its permitted satellite TV channel repository.
