Zee Rang, Zee Zabardast, Zee Picchar HD, and Zee Thirai HD granted Satellite TV license by MIB
ZEEL has been granted fresh TV licenses for the said channels which could launch as and when NTO 2.0 is implemented if the broadcasters challenge in Bombay High Court fails.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has given Zee Entertainment the nod to launch 4 new channels with its green signal for a satellite TV license to Zee Rang, Zee Zabardast, Zee Picchar HD, and Zee Thirai HD more than a week ago. ZEEL has been granted fresh TV licenses for the said channels which could launch as and when NTO 2.0 is implemented if the broadcasters challenge in Bombay High Court fails.

Zee Entertainment was granted the licenses on 19th August by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Zee Picchar HD and Zee Thirai HD will be beaming from GSAT 30 while Zee Zabardast and Zee Rang will be beaming through Intelsat 20.
While Zee Thirai HD and Zee Picchar HD will be the HD feeds of Zee Thirai and Zee Picchar, the genre of Zee Rang and Zee Zabardast is unknown currently. Both the channels have been allowed to broadcast in Hindi/English and all other regional languages.
Zee had earlier this year officially launched Zee Picchar and Zee Thirai earlier this year in March and January respectively. The launch of the HD feed will ensure that all ZEEL South Regional channels have a HD feed apart from the SD feed. Currently, all ZEEL South Regional channels have a HD feed except for Zee Thirai and Zee Picchar.
