Prasar Bharati on Friday announced the results for the recently concluded 47th e-auction held on 26th August for the allotment of vacant MPEG-4 slots for the period starting 1st September, 2020 to 31st March, 2021. The MPEG-4 slots e-auction has again saw Hindi News channels dominate with all three slots won by Hindi News channels.
ANB News, Aryan TV National, and News India 24*7 have been allotted the 3 vacant MPEG-4 slots on DD Free Dish. The three channels will be going live today on the DD Free Dish platform on a pro-rata basis. ANB News and News World (Aryan TV National) have already gone live on DD Free Dish platform while News India 24*7 is yet to go live.
The 47th e-auction was initially supposed to happen on 25th August but was put on hold temporarily due to a change in terms and conditions of the e-auctioneer agency. The e-auction was later rescheduled to 26th August with Prasar Bharati resuming the receipt of applications for the allotment of vacant MPEG-4 slots on the DD Free Dish DTH platform.
In other news, Prasar Bharati has disconnected the signals of Manoranjan Grand after the channel failed to pay up the 5th installment despite extended relief from TDSAT. The channel has filed a miscellaneous application that will be heard tomorrow but the chances of it coming back look slim after TDSAT vacated the interim stay.
