Prasar Bharati on Saturday kept the allotment of vacant MPEG-4 slots on DD Free Dish platform which was notified on 14th August 2020 in abeyance till further notice due to change in terms and conditions of e-auctioneer agency.

Prasar Bharati was set to hold e-auction for the allotment of vacant MPEG-4 slots of DD Free Dish DTH platform on a pro-rata basis for the period from 1st September 2020 to 31st March 2021. The e-auction was scheduled to be held tomorrow which has now been kept in abeyance due to the change in terms and conditions of the e-auctioneer agency.

Prasar Bharati in its notice said, “Due to change in terms & conditions of e-auctioneer agency, it is hereby informed that the receipt of applications from TV channels in above reference has been temporarily placed on hold. The revised terms & conditions along with application process will be intimated soon.”

The revised process is likely to be intimated soon. Until then, the allotment of vacant MPEG-4 slots will remain in abeyance. Prasar Bharati had earlier in June held the 46th E-Auction for allotment of MPEG-4 slots on annual basis wherein devotional and news channels had dominated the auction.
