I just checked the Arasu Cable TV Website. Following the set top box requirement enrollment link (http://199.79.62.197/arasucable/stb/settopbox.php), I came to know the region setup for their service.

I noticed Alandur, which is the nearest zone for me in the list. The channel VTV is playing advt that it is available in Alandur, Adambakkam and Velachery. So, definitely it is from Arasu cable tv and I think as people mentioned, they have customization for each zone. That is why I am getting different number of channels. I am not sure if I am correct.

Thanks for the clarifications. There is no problem in the link I have given. The issue is because of an additional ")" at the end of the URL. It is same as the one given by you "pearlpearl"..

OK, it would good if they atleast connect and run as analogue, but they dont see to do anything. They cant even release the list of LCO's connected with them. They seem just working for namesake.

Yes, sure i too feel the same. I'm actually puzzled if i have to pay 1000 Rs for SCV STB (though im not happy with their package) and if arasu comes then again pay for their STB. so i think it would be wise to wait for Jan 14.

Yes. I am also preferring to not go for SCV. Worst package. I disappointed when I don't see ESPN, Star Sports, Star Cricket, Movies Now and Puthiya Thalaimurai. If they are adding these channels I can go for SCV. Package cost is also high. But I wont take it as a serious one if these channels are available. Others are fine in their package.

Sure, actually i cant keep the dish in my roof but have space only in the balcony. Will it be ok and will the signals be good?

Also any particular DTH that can offer the best package for a cheaper cost? Initial payment is ok, but monthly subscription cant be way too high. My friends suggested me Tatasky but it was long back, dont know how it is now.

I want all tamil channels, sports, english news and movies.

Yes, their package sucks. They always see that they get the most benefit, i'm not saying i need only puthiya thalaimurai, but removing any popular channel that people like isnt good. I was shocked to see them removing popular channels.

I think they will slowly introduce star group of channels and ask for additional 25 or 50 rs and sure puthiya thalaimurai wont be included as their news channel would come down.

people should get what they want as we pay for it and they are not doing for free.
