now the ball is in TRAI court. They have to say YES or NO to Arasu DAS license

Yes. They were silent since 2012 and this is why Chennai never got DAS.

Hope they take some decision on the license issue for both the MSO's in Chennai (One MSO which never entered Chennai never got DAS license and another one that serves Chennai its license was cancelled and they got a Stay long back for signal disconnection and no improvement on this one too).

Looks like Chennai a completely different nation altogether as for the last several years there is absolutely no improvement and no-one seems to care too.

Broadcasters to block all analogue signals after 31 December, warn MSOs & LCOs

Source: Broadcasters to block all analogue signals after 31 December, warn MSOs & LCOs - India's Leading Source for Broadcasting & Broadband Info...

As per this news, apart from Arasu , other MSOs will not get the analog signals.
What about SCV analog in chennai?

Excellent Info. :k :clap

Yes, this rule seems only for Arasu and also there doesn't seem to be any stay (only status quo) on this case so there shouldn't be any restriction for TRAI to turn off Analogue for other MSO's.

I dont wish to be precise on this issue, but i feel that the two friends (MSO's who appears to be rivals in public) who have always helped each other would cooperate this time too so even the other MSO should be able to stay on Analogue.

But if everything happens strictly as per this news (if people are lucky... yes... we really need a relief from this...) then 90% of Chennai homes will lose local cable and all LCO's will move to Arasu to get Analogue (but does this MSO really want to serve this City :huh is the million dollar question... ).

Till now there is no info from SCV on switch off analogue / asking customers to switch to digital (like 2012 year end). So hope we can analogue continuation in chennai till jan 6th and depends on court order, to could change ,mostly chennai / TN will continue analogue till the state election.

RE: Mass Channel Swapping again on SCV Analogue - [Chennai Analogue & DAS Updates].

Nothing to black-out in SCV Analog as it provides only 45 channels & charges Rs.130 for it..
If all broadcasters block their signals to SCV Analog, then SCV will run analog by providing Sun group of channels alone...

Yes, mostly it seems analogue will continue till the election season is over. :huh

Huh... all we can do is to hope... hope and keep on hoping and access to pay channels stays a dream for ever (for new users... YES, STB cant be purchased unless there is a guarantee for MSO for atleast 1 yr... and NO, DTH are not a good choice for everyone)..... :wall

And as a new year surprise SCV Analogue has brought back Zee Cafe back to its earlier visible slot (next to Zee Studio)... hope to see some English Shows once again. :clap :tup
