The only brighter side of this i see that many channels are priced at ₹1 to ₹5 but most of popular channels are charging above ₹10 and this pricing is main cause of making this new rule unfavorable to subscribers.
Regarding your question Whether i have gone through the lengthy pricing mechanism followed by TRAI, My question is Why you are expecting from a common many who just want to watch maximum channels at minimum monthly charges and read a complicated paper which needs solicitors mind ?
And why TRAI not issued a simple FAQ + Info in media yet to inform and educate millions of Cable/DTH subscribers ?
Another point TRAI overlooked that we are multilingual society wonder how they assumed that people prefer just One Indian language Plus Hindi/English Channels ?
A vast majority watches at least 3 language program So this new rule has created a very tough choice for multilingual viewers.
It is proven that in telecom rates TRAI always acted in favor of increased call/data rate & reduced data until JiO came & jolted market with Unlimited Call & high data.
Regarding subscriber base issue which is like Cat n Mouse game(even in this new system) the TRAI can play very crucial role by asking DTH/Cable Service providers to submit a Audit like detail of active connections.
Barring few all service providers are using new tech to activate deactivate consumer so getting consumer base audit report is not impossible.
----------------------------
From a common viewers vewpoint
He wants to pay maximum ₹250 in tear 2 cities specially cabled connection
A good number pays between ₹250-₹350 & very few more than that & this above ₹250 are mostly DTH subscribers.
Bhai if someone is not ready to read the order then why asking for explanation about NCF 130 pricing ? What i am saying is TRAI already given that explanation what you were asking earlier in that paper about how they arrive that 130 figure.
And regarding FAQ, again you are not following TRAI or DDF as there is a complete FAQ already published by TRAI and posted here to educate everyone. You just need to read it.
Regarding 3 language issue, if you have read the 2 page order then you would see TRAI wanted users to subscribe chs in ALC mode, they dont want bouquet as people get unnecessary chs in bouquet. That's why they brought 15% rule. But HC scrape that rule and that's why TRAI has appealed again in SC. Now if we select chs in alc then there should not be any language barrier.
