D2H Testing "Harmonic" UHD Channel in HEVC format

Personally i m not excited n would certainly prefer pix hd or romedy hd due to high cost....uhd is diff to survive in india simply of the cost ...even after 3 yrs of hd content in india only 5% users have hd stb so max 7%hav hd tv which is atleast 10 times cheaper than uhd tv ie 25000 for starters n 4k tv at 250000 rs ...what is the least at which 4k tv can go in next say 5 yrs max 70 k which is still huge for a normal man bcoz simply we hav hd ready or hd led or lcd r available from 25 k bcoz they r started 19 inch screen size but for uhd tv i guess the min inch req will be atleast 40 inch ...so in todays world u need 50 k to buy a 40 inch hd led so how can we expect a 40 inch uhd tv to cost less than 70 k in near future ....n after buying a uhd tv there r many costs like stb costs n ch costs ...then we cant expect any hindi content in 4k so simply forget abt 4k or uhd....n dont u guyz say that when first hd came people said the same thing but it grew ....but 4k wont bcoz its 4 times costly than hd ...n simply its diff ....better d2h launch wanted pix hd romedy hd etc

D2h use Technicolor box ? If yes then possible but If not then who is the 4k capable stb manufacturer except Technicolor?

I dont know about it... If it doesnt support then We can watch downgraded Picture UHD > HD. even though we have UHD TV.. so either D2H will wait till few New STB purchased or its just for testing purpose only..

I Think new Model STBs might be supporting HEVC Codecs.. if not no one cant get them in UHD.
BTW my guess is we can watch UHD Channel existing HD TV .. just can watch .. i may be wrong but i got atleast Still pictures in my LCD Monitor ..

The Rec. 2020 (UHDTV) color space can reproduce colors that can not be shown with the Rec. 709 (HDTV) color space.
If D2H Processes 2160p video encoded according to ITU-R BT.709 color space then it's possible to watch in HD TV also.
HEVC Compatible stb is must since they are using that encoding

RE: D2H Testing "Harmonic" UHD Channel in HEVC format

So it's HD box not uhd box

RE: D2H Testing "Harmonic" UHD Channel in HEVC format

Till today Normal and popular indian channels are yet to launch there HD version and d2h is talking about UHD...this is a big joke...HD Channels are not yet make market and people are not ready to even pay for HBO Hitz and Define and so what will UHD Channel cost? This means change of STB and led....D2h is only marketing and doing pubicity as final Digitalisation is coming so d2h can do this publicity to lure people as they did with there d2h 3D Channel which i dont think any one even watch that channel as its not even 3D and same content is running everyday....in short this is nothing but to target people and advertise....this is like a bix box full of air.

Without Supplying Box Why They're Testing, Looks Like Software Upgrade will Do The Things
