Well India is a vast country, and migration happens from one state to another, In Mumbai alone there are people from different states who are living there. hence MSO too will add all regional channels, and also after the Govt nod for Digitization and DAS, all MSO must have all channels.

Yes.:s
but, DTH is good in regional channel content.:tup
DTH Tax is too huge.:s
so, pack prices are high.:'(

Dish TV Providing 38 True HD Channels that too in crystal clear quality as said by some experts DishtruHD HD PQ Best amongest all DTH.

At current state DTH is better for its wider reach. Big MSO's are present only in major cities. TP space is a temporary problem and will be resolved soon. But in long run I mean after 2030 most people will switch to IPTV when optic fiber connectivity and 5G will be available everywhere and we will be getting 8K(super high definition) channels. It will not be viable to broadcast 8K channels for DTH as it requires enourmous bandwidth of 85 Mbps at a very basic level which will make the service too expensive for end users.

sagar.patnaik bro,

Yes ur right DTH will eventually get obsolete soon, currently DTH and Digital cable TV are top. I can say Digital cable tv has more advantage. IPTV is a failed concept in India as no operator has that vision/mission to go pan india.

Digital Cable has a huge bandwidth from 48MHz-860MHz can be expanded to 1000MHz and above. So even 8K channels or 10K suppose wont be a problem in Digital cable.

In many cities MSO are giving triple play, that is Digital Cable, Broadband and Interactive services together. MSO in digital cable use frequency above 800MHz to provide broadband Via Digital Cable TV STB.

IPTV has failed coz we do not have more than 1% broadband penetration. The telecom operators are at very good position coz they ll have the infrastructure to roll out iptv pan India once internet becomes a commodoty. Infact all DTH players will shift to iptv later. MSO's have a problem they are confined to top 10 cities. And DTH has not allowed new MSO's to evolve specially in tier 2 and tier 3 cities. IPTV will give a level playing field to all as bandwidth in optic fiber is almost unlimited so even MSO's can lease bandwidth to go PAN India but the companies with big pockets will be at good position.

sagar.patnaik bro,

Many MSO like hathway, In Digital, Den have their footprints in many states, some areas they are on their own while in others they are there via a Join Venture, either ways they have a control over a large area. And if they can lease bandwidth as you said they may be a huge competitor for IPTV if it has a future. But how will DTH operators shift to IPTV, I mean what will happen to their control room and such huge subscriber base

DTH operators wont have to do anything, migration wont be a problem as new set top boxes in future will be iptv compatible. Secondly they dont have to lay cable as optic fiber connectivity will be there to every home. Todays MSO's have presence in many states but only in capital regions which is not even 10% of the base of that state.
