It seems Doordarshan does not call its channels DD Uttar Pradesh/Uttarakhand, DD Bihar/Jharkhand, etc. It says only DD UP and DD Bihar. Why?

Is Chandragupta Maurya ending tomorrow? If that's true I can officially bid farewell to cable.

Looks like Tiranga TV's brief run came to an end, message flashing that this channel has been discontinued by the broadcaster
Running Fine till now on TATA|sky

DD National running in letter box aspect ratio. Change from broadcaster or operator side? Other dth subscribers please check and confirm
Yes Surprisingly it's from Broadcasters End.... But Why ???

Good News is that ZOOM 24 hrs Music Channel from Times Network now Broadcasting all its Stuffs in 16:9 Ratio giving HD Quality Effect. Previously it showed limited Programs in 16:9 Ratio but now turned 24x7. If they can keep the Pricing within 20 paisa per month then surely penetration of ZOOM can be much Bigger than now

DD Uttarakhand and DD Ranchi already started transmission, even though it is only for a few hours per day.
That could be the reason.
But why are there separate channels?

One possibility is that every DD Kendra in every state should have a channel, whether satellite or not. Private broadcasters can club UP and UK but not DD.

I also feel that the plan is one channel for each State/UT.
Already they are running test channels for Panaji, Ranchi, Shimla, Hisar, Raipur, Andaman and NE states.

Marathi is a very weak language for the Star network. Its traditional strengths are Malayalam and previously Bangla. Now Telugu is the biggest strength. Vijay is also doing very well (a huge lead over Zee Tamil and it has also entered the top 10). But Kannada and Marathi are very weak. Marathi is totally dominated by Zee. Jalsha Movies was launched in 2012 while there will never be a Pravah Movies.

This means the only way to watch movies such as Daagdi Chawl, Ganvesh and YZ is on Hotstar. Pravah should show movies every morning like South Indian GECs do. Or it can show movies on Sunday like it used to do earlier (Jalsha stil does).
Becoming second doesn't means they(Jalsha) became weak(of course lost some amount strength than previous). As per recent ratings they are closer with Zee Bangla.Still Star is strong by its movie channel.
Suvarna was not a weaker channel once. It was the first channel to beat Udaya TV. Its Star's fault that made the channel underperforming.
Without movies its hard for GEC's to achieve good ratings. All GECs in India wants to bigger their movie library. So Star Pravah's change will not be permanent.

Wow Music is a really nice music channel, whenever i tune into this channel there r lovely songs playing from across decades. Also picture, audio quality is excellent. Sad that it isn't getting desired response.

Currently it does not air songs from T-Series as that might be a costly affair but their curated playlist from other labels is awesome. If they would have got even decent ratings then it would have pushed them to enter a tie up with T-Series too but looks like it won't happen.
