Discussion General Discussions, News & Updates On Indian TV Channels

They ruin all the entertainment of film after dubbing it. Plenty of Punjabi movies are dubbed and shown on many Hindi channels, but they don't do justice with the film while dubbing. They don' t dubb action Punjabi movies like Blackia, DSP Dev, Dakuaan Da Munda, Sikander etc .
Maybe soon they will launch Punjabi channel
many Punjabi movies Telecasted in Star gold
Today they Premiered Jatt & Juliet movie On Star gold

I always prefer watching movies in native language with hindi subtitles bcoz of this very reason. Some OTT platforms give this option, channels should replicate this alongside giving additional dubbed language feed

Anyone checked if in updated RIO document Zee Cinema SD has been inducted into HD Bouquet ?
Also Turner India knows that Cartoon Network HD hardly has any penetration & so it has kept Cartoon Network SD in Family HD Bouquet while created separate + variant which includes both feeds, why can't Viacom18 make similar arrangements for FYI TV18? No point of keeping it in HD Bouquet till distribution is sorted

Do u guys know that HBO Asia / South Asia is jointly owned by HBO (75%) & Paramount (25%). Which means Viacom already having small presence as a movie network in India. Wonder if in season mergers Turner India actually becomes part of upcoming Viacom - CBS - Discovery entity. Turner surely needs to scale up fast to remain firm in competition. If Sony hops on then Star-Disney , Zee , will face extremely stiff battle

Note: India is the one and only country where HBO is owned by Turner Broadcasting System, whereas in any other country it is owned directly by AT&T (Warner Media) and never by Turner. Also, India is the only country where HBO is just a regular movie channel, rather than a prized premium channel with the latest and greatest shows (though HBO Hits and Defined held those distinctions).

Its owned by Warner/HBO (AT&T) itself in India too. Turner India is their local subsidiary which was handed over responsibility in 2015/16 after HBO gave up personally managing things from Singapore head office. Share holding remains same for Warner and Paramount

I know that. In other countries AT&T owns HBO directly, whereas in India it is via Turner.

No, here too same is the case. It's just like Fox had Star as subsidiary here so is case between AT&T and Turner. Parent company is same but subsidiaries just manage local operations . HBO India is owned directly by AT&T
