Looks like sony doesn't want to lose south dubbed films they lost goldmines films and gained Aditya films from Disney-Star don't know when they will change feeling sad for zee. Hope after merger something good happens.

Well i would say that Sony is still trying to improve bollywood content but yes lot more needs to done and it should not repeat previous mistake of relying heavily on dubbed south indian movies. I am most disappointed with zee, they have such great library of bollywood films but scheduling/ content strategy is just extremely poor. Repetition of 30 or 40 odd bollywood films day in day out across their chs , giving almost half or sometimes more than 50% slots to dubbed south indian movies on their chs and poor audio/video quality of their key hindi movie chs r major negatives.... They should learn something from Viacom18 and star/disney to manage film library.

Viacom18 is doing fab job with Colors Cineplex Bollywood, this single channel is airing so many different bollywood films while zee has so many chs but still airs far less variety of bollywood films. Viacom18 is gradually increasing its bollywood film library as Colors Cineplex Bollywood and Superhits is made available across platforms, content on these chs will give good competition to star/disney hindi movie chs. I am sure Viacom18 will launch 1 or 2 more hindi movie chs soon and Colors Cineplex Bollywood HD would also b launched very soon

In the past one and a half months alone, we have seen a record number of channel launches/rebrands:

• Zee Delhi NCR Haryana, Zee Odisha News (digital)
• Super Hungama
• MH One Dil Se
• Gujarat 1st 24x7
• Foodxp

Nor to mention the most-awaited upcoming launches from big broadcasters, Sports18 and Pravah Picture.

Of these, a large number are DDFD channels:

• Goldmines/Goldmines Bollywood
• Colors Cineplex Superhits
• Shemaroo Umang
• Q Marathi
• Dangal 2

Plus, Ishara TV was readded on DDFD while the big broadcasters’ Hindi GECs have left.

Many of these launches are from small broadcasters, while bigger ones except Viacom18 are mostly keeping silent. Thankfully, with the recent announcement of Pravah Picture, Disney-Star is slowly waking up and starting to be active in new channel launches. Goodness knows when the others will come, but once Pravah Picture has been announced, it is a guarantee that some time this month or next month, it will release the new RIO document and reveal the final dates of the promised channel launches and shutdowns.

As they say, sabr ka phal meetha hota hai. T: the fruit of patience is sweet. We have waited all these months; just a few weeks more!

So u think that father is always right and son can't have more knowledge than him. Please don't draw wrong comparisons. It is not a question of who launched first or last but who adopted right strategy at particular time. Also what is the rationale that viacom18 and star/disney have many films at present which were earlier with zee cinema hence they r following strategy of zee? Ofcourse zee cinema was 1st hindi movie channel and star/disney hindi movie chs launched later hence renewed many of these films. These things continue every now and then and it has nothing to do with following someone's footsteps. Recently zee renewed Time Magnetics, NR Pachisia films from star/disney but they r surely not following star/disney content strategy.

Star Gold started out as a classic bollywood movie channel but later converted into a channel featuring mostly newer as well as bollywood films from last 30 yrs in its key time slots. Same goes for Sony Max 2 just that it does not air recent bollywood films. Star Gold did that to enter mainstream competition and not bcoz they were imitating zee cinena
