SET HD is doing reruns of CID at 12 pm which makes no sense. Sony needs to capitalise 11:15 pm by giving CID to young Shark Tank audience. Random OTT shows won't do any good. Bring shows like Maharani, Rocket Boys, Scam 1992 etc. And that 11-5 am slot is censor free slot too.

As tripura election coming looks like cn tripura set to launch in tv set soon

And I wanted Star World Premiere HD. They had Glee, Homeland, Two and a Half Men etc. Star was so cruel. They aired first episodes of many shows on Star World and FX than aired rest of the episodes on Star World Premiere in 2014. Even in 2015 they only binge aired episodes on Star Woeld after the run was over on SWP HD from 12-6 pm of most shows on weekends only. This is why I hate both Disney and Star who removed American shows until launch of Disney International HD for Indian version of same despite making money off brands like Hannah Montana.

By the end of the year (2015), HBO Defined and HBO Hits were gone. After five years HBO and WB as well. It’s very sad that Turner/WarnerMedia has closed the highest number of English movie channels out of any Indian broadcaster. Covered in my article a few months ago.

Imagine if Discovery deal happened earlier. They would not only have English Movies channel. They could also rebrand to WB to a English GEC.

Reason for failure for English channels in the country

BBC Entertainment - Delayed digitalization.

BIG CBS Spark, Love and Prime - Delayed digitalization and dumb strategy of simulacasting same shows during prime time.

Fox Crime - Too many English channels in the market. Was treated as Star Utsav of Star World.

FX and FX HD - Clueless "people" destroyed sports market by putting live International events on HD only channel which failed miserably. To make up they shut down a successful revived GEC to launch SD variant of same sports channel one year later.

9XO - Carriage Fees issue.

HBO, HBO, WB, HBO Defined, HBO Hits - Lending exclusive shows to a rival network and streaming platform. Failing to understand kids market. Dominance of Nick and Disney in kids segment.

Star World Premiere HD - Launch of Colors Infinity put them in coma already. Still was doing somewhat good with HBO's content. But new tariff order nailed the final nail in the coffin just like what it did to other niche channels.

Star World - Fate of Channel V. Shutdown despite being popular. It's being pushed towards shutdown for vested interest. The most popular show it had has become OTT exclusive. This will be most likely repeated to shutdown Disney International HD.

How about AXN? Why do you think it was closed?

And you can clearly see that there is not a single channel from Viacom18 in this list!
Kuch Bhi Ho !!

Hum To CID, Crime Petrol and TMKUC Se Hi Kush Hai. (We Are Happy With Mentioned Shows Only)
True, but English-speaking audiences want something as well that reflects urban sensibilities. Indian English GECs have tried with mixed success.
