Yesterday night Mission Impossible - Fallout was aired on Star Gold 2 and Star Gold 2 HD. I watched the movie on HD feed and really loved the whole viewing experience, superb audio + video quality and there were almost no ads as this is a new channel and still not many brands would have bought ad slots on it. Even Audio + Video quality on SD feed was awesome

It's way better on 4K.

Price hike of Nat Geo HD makes zero sense. History TV18 HD cost half the price of Nat Geo HD and has a much fresher line-up. Even Discovery Science costing ₹1 is offering fresh shows.

Wrong buddy . National Geographic Channel is airing lot of fresh and new content...not only new shows r being added to schedule on constant basis but so r new season of a long running shows. History TV18 is airing lot of repetitive content since last few years.

Discovery Science has been airing wide variety of old + new shows since last few years and is a very good channel to watch.

Discovery Channel again has been airing few new/fresh shows but its schedule is mostly filled with Bear Gryll shows and other such regular shows which have been airing for a very long time which includes re-run as well as new season / episodes.

Still i do not find current line of National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel, History TV18 to be interesting or likable. Miss science, investigation, biography, exploration shows on National Geographic Channel which once formed part of its core programming strategy. Discovery Channel too until 2016 aired wide range of content and same is the case with History TV18 but now these air content which is repetitive and boring.

Sony BBC Earth , Fox Life, TLC r good channels but latter too need to add more travel shows to its schedule. Travel XP is a good channel but presentation style pf its shows is very unattractive.

These channels need to also offer some exclusive / differentiated content on its HD feed rather than simulcasting all the content available on their SD feed

We know that buddy. But here i just referred to quality of transmission on available SD and HD channel. 4K viewing is mostly suitable via OTT apps so when one feels and have large screen TV + Dolby Atmos supporting home theatre system then at anytime one can enjoy watching movie or any content available in 4K on various OTT apps

That's exactly what I said. Price hike of a re-run channel makes no sense. All the good content they got are on Hotstar.

Zee Network Hindi Movie Channels still continuing to be driven mostly by dubbed south indian movies, tomorrow 15 dubbed south indian movies scheduled to air on their key hindi movie channels... Same goes for viacom18 hindi movie channels

Buddy, what matters is the overall count of bollywood movies shown across hindi movie channels of a network and here zee , viacom18 perform rather very poorly if we keep aside their pure play bollywood movie channels Zee Bollywood, Zee Classic Colors Cineplex Bollywood. Sony is improving but not consistent in this regard. Zee is also very poor interms of scheduling of bollywood movies, not only less number of bollywood movies r aired but handful r repeated very often....still in last few weeks there has been some improvement noticed on this front and i hope that they further make corrections

Also regarding primetime movies, well many time even during that time zee network hindi movie channels air dubbed south indian movies during these time slots and few bollywood movies which find space on their channels during other parts of the day. You can compare daily schedule of hindi movie channels of all leading 4 broadcasters and u will see Disney-Star providing maximum airtime to bollywood movies...mostly above 80% of time slots across their hindi movie channels r filled with bollywood movies and many times this even reaches 90% and occasionally even 100% which no other broadcaster has managed to achieve atleast in last 10 or 12 years.

Also Disney-Star Hindi Movie Channels air more of pre 2010 bollywood movies including many from 80s, 90s on their HD channels where again others r lacking. And Pictures HD airs few offbeat movies during evening slots as And XPlor HD is still not available on some platforms including Tata Play. When And XPlor HD was launched they had changed content strategy of And Pictures HD and started simulcasting content aired in its SD feed,,previously it used to air many dubbed hollywood movies + offbeat bollywood movies + some popular mainstream bollywood movies. I wrote to zee hindi movie cluster channel head via Twitter requesting to bring back critically acclaimed bollywood movies back on &Pictures HD as And Xplor HD had poor distribution hence he took my feedback into consideration changes were made shortly....similarly after implementation of NTO in 2019 Zee Cinema HD changed its strategy from being a bollywood content driven channel to simulcasting content aired on SD feed which was mostly dubbed south indian movies and i again wrote to their channel head and requested to revert back to old content strategy for Zee Cinema HD citing why it is necessary and that both feeds can b included in HD bouquet if content aired is different barring few similarities....shortly after Zee Cinema HD again became largely pure play bollywood movie channel however again in 2021 end it reverted back to simulcast strategy.... I must state that Zee Cinema HD even while being a bollywood content centric channel did not have a good scheduling strategy and mostly aired movies which were either not good or had niche appeal hence it would not have gotten desired ratings.
Disney - Star already has dedicated channel Star Gold Select SD / HD so it does not have a need to air offbeat / critically acclaimed bollywood movies on its main hindi movie channels but still at various times some of these movies do get aired on Star Gold , Star Gold 2 and erstwhile UTV Movies too gave some airtime to them

Star Trek : Beyond (2016) will be airing tomorrow 11 AM on Star Movies SD / HD. It is part of Paramount Pictures hollywood movie library . Do not know if it is a premiere or renewal hence posted it in this section
