Pulimurugan Ends Its Grand Run In Kochi Multiplexes.

Pulimurugan, featuring Mohanlal in the lead role has had a dream run in the theatres. Especially in Kochi multiplexes, the film did set some big records in its due course of run.

And now, Pulimurugan has ended its run in Kochi multiplexes, but not before rewriting the history of multiplex collections in Kochi. The movie ran continuously for 119 days and did stand rock-steady, despite the flurry of releases that came in between.

Interestingly, Pulimurugan has set a new collection record at Kochi multiplexes, which is seemingly hard to be broken. According to a report by Forum Keralam, the film grossed approximately 4.30 Crores from the multiplexes.

No other movie has crossed the 4-Crore mark at Kochi multiplexes. Hollywood movie The Jungle Book is at the second place and it fetched more than 2.5 Crores.

Pulimurugan is also now that fastest movie to reach the 1-Crore, 2-Crore and 3-Crore marks at the Kochi multiplexes. The film also did have a record number of shows.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal's latest release Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol is also having a fantastic run at the Kochi multiplexes. The film has already crossed the 1-Crore mark and is cruising ahead.

Nadhirshah To Direct Dileep.

Nadhirshah, the film-maker has finally decided to direct his best buddy Dileep, in his next directorial venture. As per the latest reports, Dileep and Nadhirshah are all set to joins hands for their first outing, as an actor-director duo.

The film-maker made his directorial debut with a multi-starrer while the audiences and media were expecting him to associate with Dileep. Nadhirshah's move came out as a shock to both the industry and Dileep fans.

It was speculated Nadhirshah decided not to cast Dileep in his directorial debut, due to his fallout with the actor. But the duo put the rumours to rest by joining hands for the director's second venture, Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan.

The movie, which was directed by Nadhirshah, was produced by Dileep, along with Dr. Zachariah Thomas. Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan went on to become a huge box office success and is all set to be remade in Tamil.

Nadhirshah's Dileep movie is expected to start rolling immediately after the director completes the Tamil remake of Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan. The Dileep-Nadhirshah project will be scripted by Saji Pazhoor.

The director is reportedly planning to kick start his Mammootty starrer, only after completing the Dileep project. The megastar is playing a dwarf in the comical entertainer, which is scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam.

Biju Menon Teams Up With Aju Varghese & Neeraj Madhav.

Aju Varghese and Neeraj Madhav form one of the most entertaining combos of the new age Mollywood. Their successful recent outings are a testimony to that.What if actor Biju Menon also join them? Mohanlal Turns 85-Year-Old For 1971 Beyond Borders.

Mohanlal, the complete actor is all set to play yet another different role in his career. As per the latest updates, the actor is appearing as an 85-year-old man, in the upcoming movie 1971 Beyond Borders.
Reportedly, one of the Mohanlal's roles in the movie, Brigadier Sahadevan is an 85-year-old retired soldier, who is also the father of Colonel Mahadevan. The actor is playing a double role in the movie.

1971 Beyond Borders depicts the story of the Indo-Pak war of 1971, through the viewpoint of Sahadevan. Interestingly, Mohanlal will also be playing the younger age of Bridagier Sahadevan in the movie which is set in two different time periods.

The movie, which is the four instalment of Major Mahadevan series, will feature the popular character Mahadevan as a Colonel who currently works for UN Peacekeeping Force. Mohanlal will be appearing in three get-ups in the film.

Major portions of the movie, which revolves around Bridagier Sahadevan were mainly filmed at the locations of Rajasthan and Punjab. The team is yet to reveal Mohanlal's look as Brigadier Sahadevan from the movie.

The portions, which involves the character of Colonel Mahadevan, were shot at the various locations of Georgia. 1971 Beyond Borders, which is a prequel to the first instalment of the series, Keerthichakra will hit the theatres in April.

Prithviraj’s Ezra will have two timelines.

The wait is almost over for Prithviraj's upcoming horror-thriller Ezra. The movie, which was initially slotted to hit theatres before Christmas last year, will release on February 10 and we have got some details about the movie.

Prithviraj had earlier told us that the movie would be set in the Mattanchery during the pre-independent era in the 1930s in Jew Town and also in the present time period.

Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol Box Office: 22 Days All India Collections.

Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, the first release of the complete actor Mohanlal in 2017 has earned the blockbuster status at the box office. The Jibu Jacob directed movie will soon complete the first month of its release.

According to the trade experts, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol has already crossed the 30-Crore mark at the box office. If the reports are to true, the movie has made a total gross collection of 30 Crores, within the first 22 days.

However, the team is yet to make an official confirmation up on the reports. The trade analysts suggest that Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol will surely be able to enter the 50-Crore club of Malayalam movie industry.

Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, which hit the theatres on January 20, was widely released on about 337 screens all over India. The movie which stars Meena in the female lead has still been screened on over 85 screens all over the country.

The Mohanlal movie made a grand opening at the box office by collecting about 3.09 Crores from the Kerala box office. Thus, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol emerged as the second Malayalam movie with the highest initial collection.

The family entertainer had collected about 19.65 Crores from the Kerala box office alone, just within the first 10 days of its release. Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol also managed to cross the 20-Crore mark at the all India box office, within 10 days.

Ezra Box Office First Day Collections: The Prithviraj Starrer Makes A Bumper Opening!

Ezra, starring Prithviraj, Priya Anand and Tovino Thomas in the lead roles did hit the theatres on February 10, 2017. The film, which released in close to 125 theatres in Kerala, has taken a grand opening at the Kerala box office.

If reports are to be believed, Ezra has made approximately 2.65 Crores on its opening day. Going by this box office collections, the film is now in the top 5 day 1 grossers in Mollywood.

Reportedly, the movie has even overtaken the collection of Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, which had made an amount of 2.62 Crores on its opening day. Ezra, has also registered the best opening day figures for a Prithviraj movie.

In Kochi multiplexes, the movie did set a record by collecting 16.81 Lakhs in the opening day. The film even went on to break the record set by Jomonte Suviseshangal and Pulimurugan.

The advanced booking for the movie was mighty impressive and going by the status, there was an increase in the shows at Kochi multiplexes.

The initial reviews for the movie have been largely positive and going by the reports, a big hit is on the way in Mollywood. Ezra, directed by Jay K has been tagged by the audiences as the first genuine horror-thriller of Malayalam.

The 2016 movie Ann Maria Kalippilaanu, did give Sunny Wayne, a much needed big hit. His fortune in the film industry has definitely changed post the success of the Midhun Manuel Thomas directorial.
The actor has some big and exciting projects in his kitty and now, the actor has signed yet another project, which will be in the lines of a comedy entertainer.
