Mobile VAS Firm Techzone Partners With MTunes

Mobile VAS provider Techzone has inked a two year exclusive deal with MTunes HD to provide its digital platform for MTunes’ content through SMS and CRBT services, reports IndianTelevision.com.

Through this deal MTunes HD will be allowed to use Techzone’s shortcode 56060 for its marketing activities and a CRBT and song download keyword will be included by MTunes HD for every song owned by Techzone. A WAP page and a WAPlet showcasing the WAP content of the movies provided by Techzone will also be included by MTunes. Apart from this, music through MTunes’ other partnerships, IP properties of MTunes HD like M Originals and other future creations will also be included to this service, as indicated by the report.

TechZone’s partnerships: In May 2013, Vh1 launched its Vh1 Hub, Vh1′s mobile content shop powered by Techzone to offer users with songs, ringtones, caller back tunes, videos and wall paper’s on their Vh1 Hub WAP, mobile site and their website.

In April 2013, the company extended its Magic Voice, its IVR service to telecom operators like Uninor (across India) and Airtel (Chennai). The service was previously launched on Idea Cellular (Tamil Nadu & Chennai circle). Although it is not how the service works with most of its partners, subscribers on Idea network however can dial the short code 56060 and select a voice in which they want to communicate with their friends and family.

In February 2013, TechZone had inked a tie-up with the news channel India TV to serve as its technology partner. While the deal period or the financial details of the partnership were not disclosed, Techzone said that IndiaTV will be using its short code 56060 to conduct on-air polls, contests and other audience interaction initiatives.

In September 2012, 9XO, the International music channel from 9X Media, has partnered with Techzone, to launch an online international music store - Not Found. This music store also included a WAP portal to download videos, wallpapers, ringtones and audio packs on feature phones.

Other players: In April 2012, Times Internet’s music streaming service, Gaana* had partnered with Airtel to allow its users to set their Caller Ringback Tones (CRBT). Hungama’s ArtistAloud.com has partnered with Vodafone, Uninor and MTS to allow them offer its service to their respective subscribers.

Earlier this month, OnMobile had signed an agreement to acquire LiveWire Mobile, a Boston headquartered provider of caller ringback tone services, as well as stock of Fonestarz Media Ltd, a UK based managed services of LiveWire.
