You are right! You are using a Home theater which is not having any HDMI input or SPDIF input bout only an RCA 5.1 input. You should try with the decoder I have given as link to ebay. Connect SPDIF output from your D2H STB to SPDIF Co-ax input of the decoder. The decoder is having RCA 5.1 output. Connect that output from the decoder to your home theater. That's all. FYI, the decoder cost was around Rs.4000 when I bought it during Feb 2013 in ebay.

Dont go for the decoder, though it converts either optical or Spdif to analogue 5.1 audio,the output quality is not upto the mark. I personally felt its not good. There is always a little bit noise in the subwoofer despite the stereo or surround.
