Hotstar popularity decreased day by day after Netflix enters in a big way to acquire rights of Indian movies and lost the IPL/BCCI cricket rights to Ambani.

Vivek Srivastava appointed as EVP and Business Head - Jio Cinema Hindi Entertainment .
He will be directly reporting to Kiran Mani , Head of Viacom18 Digital ventures.

This is the first major position announced post approval of Disney star viacom18 merger.
Technically,he has returned to Viacom18 because earlier he was Digital & Commercial Head for Colors.Then he joined Times,APV, now back to Viacom18.

so who will own the hotstar trademark? hotstar is also there in many foreign countries like phillipines, south africa etc. are they part of the merger deal?

Merger deal for Disney Star's Indian assets only, Disney will hold the rights of Star for rest of the world.

Yes, but saying Disney came in and improved Hotstar tech is completely wrong...
Hotstar tech was already top notch..
Live sports on hotstar is still too worst, without proper FHD(1920x1080p) and frame rate, compare to Sony Liv, not comparing with Prime Video and Netflix as they are superior in the world.

If they wants long relation with Disney, then their merged app renames as Jio Disney+ leaving Star and Colors are Linear TV brands ;):D
:ROFLMAO::LOL:
on a serious note, disney brand name cant be used in any model as, they are minority

I am excited to see how the subscription rate is going to make a difference on the merged app. They need to make a better subscription plan chart which have to be pocket friendly.
