Run moves to Star-Disney from Zee. Looks like star-Disney back to renewal game

Very underappreciated movie. Can be aired at 8 pm someday on Star Gold. Movies from UTV Studios are OTT level storyteller with mainstream appeal. These doesn't have to be exclusive to Select club. Looking forward to movies like Wake Up Sid, Life In A Metro, Mumbai Meri Jaan, A Wednesday etc. on main channels someday.

The best thing Disney-Star has done by renewing films from banners rather than individual films
Now
Dhanoa Films, Doshi Films and Tina Films International all library have been moved to Disney-Star
Shemaroo is ending its association with Sony I guess and that's why Films particularly owned by Shemaroo are moving out.
Although Sony has got a new partner in the form of Ultra Films Losing a huge content library like Shemaroo is a huge loss.
With the Zee Merger Sony may get a huge impetus but still Shemaroo Entertainment leaving and Goldmines Giving preference to their own channel for classics , Sony has suffered a huge Huge blow

I think star/disney is acquiring films both from banners as well as library companies like shemaroo, ultra, nh stuioz, DRJ Records, SEPL, etc. Current Guddu Dhanoa directed films r available with shemaroo and has diff producers or banners associated with them. Sony is in troublespot with losing out major banners or library company films, let's see what they do but it is high time that they give proper airtime to bollywood films on max and wah

A Wednesday airing tomm in afternoon slot on UTV Movies. They do air films like Jodha Akbar, Rang De Basanti, Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Rajneeti, Chance Pe Dance etc on main chs too

I consider Star Gold and Star Gold 2 as main channels. UTV channels are still niche. These are not half as popular than their Star counterpart.

Star Gold ones r primary flagship chs, UTV Movies is 2ndary flagship channel while Star Utsav Movies is Free Dish centric channel. Star Gold Select is the only niche offering. UTV Movies is available across regular broadcaster bouquet (even in mini pack) and can b accessed by all ... Also it airs modtly popular and some niche films so part of main watch list.

Niche films do get aired on Star Gold chs too every now and then. What star/disney needs to do is to make Star Gold Select available in Family bouquet which ain't the case in current or updated NTO 2.0 compliant bouquet, instead star movies added in family bouquet to widen reach with language feeds available on it. Lastly a classic bollywood channel needed from them and may well b in pipeline

2 more renewals from sony airing tomorrow on Star Gold 2 and Star Utsav Movies - Gundaraj and Elaan... Songs seems to have been deleted from Elaan as runtime is less with ads. Star/disney needs to stop removing songs from films which ruins experience, i have shared feedback on this multiple times with th but sadly no changes implemented till now

So Elaan is airing with songs, runtime is less as it is one break movie

When was the last time anything premiered on UTV? It's same as Zee Bollywood. A useless addition. Once in a while they got good movie. Otherwise it's same old, same old.

Premieres always happen on primary chs, UTV Movies is a good channel and airs wide variety of old as well as recent films. Zee Bollywood schedule is repetitive, UTV Movies has more diverse selection of films. Star/disney needs more hindi movie chs to accomodate more films. UTV Movies is competing with zee bollywood, max 2 and these chs have less pressure to achieve big ratings as incase of primary chs and have a separate programming strategy to adhere to
