Discussion Satellite rights of Hindi movies

Request all members to request movies which u feel deserve airing on hindi movie channels by sharing feedback with broadcasters. Just check who owns their rights and which broadcaster has higher possibility of signing agreement for it.

I have had requested movies like Jaane Tere Naam, Shiva (1989), Mohabbat (1997) by writing to star/disney and these were shortly aired by them. Already shared feedback regarding many other good but forgotten bollywood movies with various broadcasters . Recently again requested star / disney to air Ye Silsila Hai Pyaar Ka, Darling (2007), Ekk Hasina Thhi and zee to include Kuchh Khatti Kuchh Meethi and viacom18 to include Anthony Kaun Hai, Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaaye, Shortkut - Con Is On in its library. There were many other films part of the list which i shared with hindi movie channels and their cluster heads , hopefully these will b aired soon. For some movies i sent requests to multiple broadcasters as was not sure who has most chance to acquire their rights

I believe, Soon Sony will also follow disney/Star Strategy as Zee is following now, by showing less south movies and more bollywood movies

But Colors Cineplex (hindi movie Channel of Viacom 18) will take time to follow this strategy....

Yes. Film's Hindi Version is with Disney-Star. I watched it on UTV movies last year. I had also posted a pic.

Strangely star/disney has some good movies like Refugee (2000), Masoom (1983), Kaash (1987), Rockford, Tum Bin, Zakhm, Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega, Khamoshi - The Musical , Kitne Door Kitne Paas, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, 13B, Naina, Karam (2008), Deewanapan, Vaada (2005), and few others which r either not shown or rarely aired in watershed hours. Had mentioned this in the feedback too which i shared with them

I was also surprised and thinking how could John Abraham starrer rare film Saaya recently acquired by B4U, can so early be shown by zee
