No that's not, you can argue all day, even star don't have to pay for disney movies because star india is included in disney earnings. Now the situation is same with sony pictures india

I am not arguing but just stating facts,,neither disney sta channels r getting rights of Disney / Star Studios/20th Century Studios/ Marvel / Pixar movies for free nor are Sony Channels getting Sony Pictures / Columbia Pictures / Stage 6 Films/Screen Gems movies for free......Broadcasters have to buy rights even if these movies belong to a production house which is subsidiary of their parent company......nothing is free buddy as a company may be involved in various businesses but when any of these subsidiaries r involved in agreements with each other then monetary transactions r part of it

Going by ur logic if movie production banners / studios start giving movie rights for free to their Parent Company's Linear TV Broadcast channels then this will be a huge loss making deal ...... Also FYI this will be against fair competition practices if any company undertakes such agreements much like how u saw even Pro Kabbadi rights were sold with a open bidding process though Star Sports is owner of the league

Okay. So, does the parent company sell the rights to it's subsidiaries with comparatively lesser cost or with kinda favouritism?...
Say Disney; since the rights of its films remain only with Disney-Star and have had never been with other networks. Please Explain.

So according to you, for example star spent 100 crore to acquire Disney films, it is included in Disney income, now star earnings expenses is included in Disney balance sheet, so Disney will again show that 100 crore spent by star as expense. Does it make any sense to you? Just ask anybody who has basic knowledge of accounts & balance sheet. Your facts did make sense 5-6 years ago but now things are different.
Pro Kabaddi League is completely different. There are other parties involved not just star.
You said telecasting movies in own linear tv channels is a huge loss, no it's not, there is a revenue called ad revenue. By your logic, even disney+ is paying money to Disney which sound dumb.

Yes, everything is accounted for in financial balance sheet..... Which business incurred how much expenditure or revenue is mentioned in it. Infact as i have said each channel if they have their parent companies involved in movie production studios still they have to buy rights of those movies, also if say u watch a Sony TV ad is seen on Sony Pix it is not airing for free.

Also FYI yes even Disney+Hotstar is buying rights of movies which r produced by its parent company movie production studios

No. Disney movies too air on Times Network English Movie Channels alongwith 20th Century Studios / Pixar / Marvel movies as and when they sign agreement for the same

Star Gold 2 SD / HD will premiere critically acclaimed movie Kaagaz 2 on 8th September 2024 at 7 PM

It explains jio's strategy only, it has nothing to do with Disney produced movies telecasting on star

What i am saying that even though a parent company might have broadcast business and movie production business but it does not mean that TV Channels/OTT platform of concerned company will get movie rights for free from movie production unit of the company.... Anyways no more discussion on this as buddy what u r stating is absolutely wrong
