Scv change plan cas to das package. So they customer change to das plan.i do not think they cut analog signal.they learn from before they cut the analog signal.lco using another mso signal
If customer subscribe to Das package they expect change in channel quality also.We can't just pay Das price for Cas.
In CAS the free-to-air (FTA) channels are carried over the network in analog form while the pay channels are carried in encrypted and digitally modulated form for which a STB is required. While in DAS all the channels (pay as well as FTA) carried over the network are encrypted and digitally modulated and a STB is required for receiving both FTA and pay channels.
Can someone who has DAS compare the difference in package and quality they see migration from CAS to DAS. This can tell us if SCV is really giving a DAS or just the same CAS but with higher cost.
Ok, So SCV has only raised the price in the name of DAS and giving the same poor quality as always. We cant complain the LCO's, when MSO gives the signal they should also ensure that the same quality reaches to the end consumers.
I have an older box (for more than 5 years). It is from Coship. Picture quality is varying channel to channel it is because of SCV. Movies Now is the only channel with good quality. Next Australia Network and Fashion TV. This is because they are transmitting in 16:9 ratio. The other channels are somewhat okay. In tamil Sun network and Kalaignar channels are good. One thing to be noted is that it is not because of LCO's weak signal. 40% of signal strength is enough for the STB to show the channels without any flicker. So, their set top box is good but not the channel quality from SCV (from the head end itself).
