Very good news. More competition in the Marathi genre from Sun and Sony. Of couse Sun looks like a poor man's channel compared to Sony, but never underestimate them.

Zee must worry about new competitors. Though all 3 channels (zee marathi,zee yuva & zee talkies) are going very well currently. Zee has been spending well on zee yuva & zee talkies but when I see zee marathi the budget is comparatively low.

The investments Viacom made in bigg boss or picture quality Viacom providing for colors marathi, I never saw in zee marathi. Even zee marathi's channel head has moved to colors marathi recently. I see popularity of zee has been reducing. Zee should not take this market for granted like this. They should revamp channel with some good shows.

Though another thing I would like to mention is that colors & star's shows are way more regressive than zee marathi. Maybe that's the reason behind their consistent leadership. Also, Zee yuva has always been great in providing differentiated content.

Bdw personally I am happy about sony marathi considering the content quality they provide in hindi i expect the same here in marathi.
