You never heard about Ten Sports? It was owned by Taj Television. They sold it to Zee in 2006 who sold it to Sony in 2016.
I thought it was owned by Sony from the beginning, and they just added the "Sony" in the name later. Didn't know it was owned by Zee.

I was aware of Zee Sports, but never knew that it was Taj Entertainment Network first.
Zee Sports & Taj Network both were different companies .
An Emirati company named Taj Television launched Ten Sports on 1 April 2002, making it one of the first sports channels in India after Star Sports, ESPN and the government-owned DD Sports, which were launched in the 1990s. Zee bought 50% of Taj Television in 2006 to complement its Zee Sports channel (later Ten Action, now Sony Ten 2); this stake was greatly increased in 2010.
