MUMBAI: Rupert Murdoch is looking at
an operating income (EBITDA) of $1
billion from his Indian media business,
housed under Star India, by the end of
2020.
The company has been expanding its
footprints, both organically and
inorganically, especially in sports and
regional entertainment content in
India.
Speaking at a conference in Bali on
Friday, 21st Century Fox co-COO
James Murdoch said that sports
business in India is a new pillar for
the company and it is looking at the
business from a long-term
perspective. “And if we keep
innovating and investing in putting
more creative and innovative content
on screen, Star India will become a $1
billion EBITDA business by the turn of
the decade,” he said.
