Interesting coincidence: In the photo gallery in the above page, this photo came. I don't know these two actors. One was wearing a Star Wars T-shirt.

Star is slowly winning the Bollywood War against Zee with the help of WAR and other YRF movies. At the same time Sony has been all but wiped out. Only KJo and Sanjay Bhansali are keeping Viacom alive.

Now that the rights of War are officially confirmed to be with Star, I will soon update my satellite rights table. Bollywood Satellite Acquisitions (2015-present).xlsx EDIT: Updated. Only War is with Star; other YRF movies continue with Sony for the time being.

P.S. Who are these actors? EDIT: Answered by @Bapun Raz.

Even all films from FilmKraft will be parked with Star India , they already have deal with Hritik for his future movies and were looking to get rights of older ones. Now with YRF agreement that is sealed as they r distributors of old FilmKraft Production movies

Plus all UTV distributed movies from early times which are scattered between others will eventually come to Star. This will also enrich Star's library. Movies like Dangal,ABCD 2 etc will loose from others after deal expires.

Jet Airways shut down shortly after its 25th anniversary. Expecting Sony Max to shut down after its 20th anniversary in October as it has no Hindi movies left. Just kidding…

In all seriousness, the recent 20th anniversary 'Gullu' video was a massive blunder. It tried to mislead people into thinking that it shows Hindi movies. Yes, DDLJ and all are part of the channel's legacy, but Sony longer has the rights to it and other YRF movies, simply because of its own misdeeds.

P.S. Star should urgently convert Movies OK into a classic movie channel and rebrand Star Gold with a fresh logo ASAP.

U missed
Rowdy Rathore
BFG
Kai Po Che
Heroine
Race 2
any many more

UTV played quite smart, they knew that their own movie channel does not hold the influence to garner max audience hence outsourced satellite rights of own productions to other broadcasters. But what was brilliant part in all of this was the fact that they kept a condition for having rights of few secondary airings for themselves.

Be it Rowdy Rathore ABCD, Race, Dangal, or others they were able to telecast it on UTV Movies bcoz of this reason. Now with acquuring Star India they will surely reach out to dethroning Zee from top in this genre
